Disable Google Play App Integrity Warning
When your app is also distributed on Google Play, some users may see a pop-up message saying “Get this app from Play” when launching the game. This message can block access and prevent users from playing.
This behavior is usually caused by Automatic protection settings, which may be enabled by default in some cases. When active, these settings restrict apps that were not installed directly from Google Play.
By disabling this option in the Developer Console, you can ensure that users who download your app from other distribution channels can still use it normally.
How to Disable the Installer Check
-
Go to Google Play Developer Console;
-
Select your app;
-
From the left menu, select: App Integrity;
-
In the Automatic protection section, click Settings;
-
Disable (untick) the Installer check option
-
Click Save;
-
In the confirmation modal, click Turn Off;
-
A confirmation message will appear at the bottom of the page, indicating that the changes were applied successfully.
After completing these steps, users who install your app outside of Google Play should no longer see the “Get this app from Play” warning.
