External In-App Purchases Reporting in Japan

When distributing your app through alternative marketplaces in Japan, external in-app purchases must be reported to Apple and are subject to a 5% commission.

Aptoide can manage this reporting on your behalf using Apple’s External Purchase API. However, you remain responsible for paying any invoices issued by Apple.

Required Credentials

To enable reporting, you must provide the following credentials:

• Key ID
• Issuer ID
• Private Key (.p8 file)

These credentials are generated in App Store Connect.

How to Generate the Private Key

1. Sign in to App Store Connect;
2. Go to Users and Access;
3. Open the Integrations tab;
4. Under Keys, select In-App Purchase;
5. Click Generate In-App Purchase Key (or + to create a new key);
6. Enter a name for the key and click Generate;
7. Download the .p8 file (this file is only available once);
8. On the same page, copy the Key ID and Issuer ID.

Make sure to store the private key securely, as it cannot be downloaded again.
